Brut Vintage 2008
A champagne with beautiful concentration, full of tension and salinity.
A fairly deep golden green appearance. Extremely fine, slow sparkle that almost twinkles.
Initially very delicate on the nose. The first impression is ripe and slightly tart with crystallised lemon and ginger aromas. This is rapidly enhanced with the arrival of brioche notes, followed by fresh pineapple and iodine. A nose with a big personality and huge elegance.
Lively in the attack, opening up into remarkably taut form on the palate. The backbone of acidity offers a beautiful verticality, whilst the wine’s robustness provides sufficient body for the oak and roasted pineapple notes. The quality of the sparkle draws on this fullness to create a silky feel, punctuating the tasting. The dosage supports the overall wine and enhances its well-integrated texture. Hints of very ripe apricot. This wine is a fantastic example of balance between dynamism and cosiness.
The finish is sharp-pointed and very long (more than 12 seconds). It ends its chalk-clad course with a tart, saline touch.
